Unidentified drones were detected flying over Belgium’s Kleine-Brogel air base between Friday and Saturday.

Defence Minister Theo Francken announced on Sunday that an investigation had been launched after drones were seen hovering over the military installation for two consecutive nights.

Last month, similar drone activity was reported over the Elsenborn base, located near the German border.

In response to the growing number of drone incursions into European airspace in recent months, the European Union plans to establish an “anti-drone wall.”

The EU intends to draw on Ukraine’s experience in developing drone and counter-drone technologies since the start of the war with Russia. Kyiv, which operates a sophisticated drone army and interception systems, has pledged to assist Europe in enhancing its aerial defences.

In recent weeks, countries including Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, and Poland have also reported illegal drone activity in their airspace.
