Cristiano Ronaldo has said that Donald Trump is one of the people who “can help change the world.”
The Portuguese football star, who currently plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr, made the remarks during an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, in which he claimed that the American president has the potential to make a global impact.
The 40-year-old also spoke about next year’s World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Surprisingly, Ronaldo said he does not “dream” of winning the one major trophy missing from his career.
“How would that define me? Whether I’m one of the best players in history? Winning a tournament of six or seven matches… Do you really think that’s fair?” he said.
Portugal are close to qualification and could secure their place with a win against Ireland.
