Champions League round 3 : what you missed

As usual, football’s most prestigious competition did not disappoint, with an avalanche of goals across Europe.

On Tuesday, FC Barcelona crushed Olympiakos 6-1, while Kairat Almaty and Pafos played out a goalless draw. Later in the evening, PSV Eindhoven comfortably beat Napoli 6-2, and Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 7-2 on home soil. Newcastle secured a 3-0 win over Benfica, and Arsenal easily overcame Atlético Madrid 4-0. Manchester City won 2-0 away at Villarreal. Meanwhile, Dortmund defeated Copenhagen 4-2, and Inter Milan triumphed 4-0 against Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

The following day, Athletic Bilbao beat Qarabag FK 3-1, and Galatasaray also won 3-1 against Bodø/Glimt. Chelsea hammered Ajax Amsterdam 5-1 in London, while Real Madrid edged Juventus 1-0 in Spain. Sporting Lisbon overcame Marseille 2-1, and Monaco drew 0-0 with Tottenham, with Atalanta Bergamo also holding Slavia Prague to a goalless draw. Finally, Liverpool thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in Germany, while Bayern Munich comfortably defeated Club Brugge 4-0.
