A drone disrupted air traffic at Berlin Airport for several hours on Friday, the latest in a string of drone-related incidents at airports in recent months.
Operations at Berlin Brandenburg Airport were halted for two hours after a drone was spotted in the airspace, a spokesperson for the airport confirmed to local media.
A witness reported seeing the drone around 8 p.m. local time, prompting police to establish a security perimeter. The Federal Aviation Office also joined the investigation, while a helicopter was deployed in the area to track down the device.
In recent months, several similar incidents involving unidentified drones have been reported, notably in Denmark and Norway.
By Saturday, air traffic had returned to normal, according to a spokesperson for the German airport.
