Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has revealed that she is considering another run for the presidency, saying she is confident that a woman will eventually make it to the White House.
In an interview with the BBC, the Democrat said she could “possibly” become president one day, adding that she remains committed to public service.
After losing to Donald Trump last year, Harris is reportedly open to running again in 2028, though she admitted it’s unclear whether she will be selected as the Democratic nominee.
“I am not done,” Harris said when asked about a potential campaign. “I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones.“
Harris also commented on her concerns about Trump’s second term, warning that it could pave the way for an increasingly authoritarian government. She cited the case of TV host Jimmy Kimmel, who was briefly suspended after making a joke about far-right influencer Charlie Kirk’s death.
“You look at what has happened in terms of how he has weaponised, for example, federal agencies going after political satirists,” she said. “His skin is so thin he couldn’t endure criticism from a joke and tried to shut down an entire media organisation in the process.“
