Apple has removed several apps that reported sightings of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.

The US tech giant explained that it took down ICEBlock from the App Store after law enforcement raised security concerns about this type of application.

Another app, ICE Immigration Alerts, was also removed from both the App Store and Google Play, along with Coqui.

In a statement, US Attorney General Pam Bondi said she had “demanded” the removal of ICEBlock, arguing that it was designed to put ICE officers at risk.

This decision means the app can no longer be downloaded, although users who already have it installed can continue to use it.

Following the Trump administration’s actions to curb immigration, many similar apps have emerged.
