Jensen Huang, the co-founder and CEO of Nvidia, has declared that the United Kingdom is set to become an “AI superpower” as he announced a £500 million investment in a British firm.

The 62-year-old revealed that he has taken an equity stake in Scale, a UK cloud computing company, and said he expects it could generate up to £50 million in profits over the next six years.

We’re here to announce that the UK is going to be an AI superpower,” he told reporters at a press conference in London.

To support his claim, Huang highlighted the strength of British universities and the thriving tech companies already established across the country.

Meanwhile, China has recently banned its AI firms from purchasing semiconductors and chips from Nvidia, as the geopolitical race to dominate artificial intelligence continues to intensify.
